Easy breakfast smoothies

Image from weheartit
I have searched the web far and wide, trawling for hours through recipe sites, blogs and cook books. Finally, I have settled on these four perfect breakfast smoothies that you can make with standard ingredients you're more than likely to have at home - a couple of which you may find yourself sipping in the park or by the pool...

I'm going to start with this pineapple and coconut smoothie.Pineapples are gorgeous at this time of the year and you'd be silly not to take full advantage of that, especially if you love a good pina colada. To avoid the headache of one or even to avoid being frowned at for drinking before 10am, this smoothie is a godsend. Simply blend together a cup of chopped pineapple, 1/4 of a cup of coconut milk, 1/4 of a cup of yoghurt (I find vanilla or coconut to be the best in this situation), a tablespoon of flaked coconut and ice until smooth - it's that easy! Top with a slice of pineapple, more coconut, pretty much anything you fancy.

You're not a health freak if you're not a lover of all things green or herbal which is why my second recipe is this lovely green tea number. Perfect for post-light-workout, it's deliciously refreshing and, if I may, one of my all time favourites. All you need is a frozen banana, 1/2 a honeydew melon (chopped), 3/4 of a cup of strong green tea, a teaspoon of honey (opt) and 1/4 cup of almond milk. You could also blend with some ice if you liked!

For a more filling breakfast drink I've chosen this mouth watering banana and oat smoothie. Basically banana porridge in a glass! Blend together 1/4 cup of oats, 1/2 cup plain yoghurt (low fat if you like!), a banana (frozen if you choose) chopped, 1/2 cup of milk, 2 teaspoons of honey and 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon. This is wonderfully filling and you could also throw in some mango, coconut or practically anything to taste.

Lastly, for all you lovelies in need of a caffeine boost in the morning (me included), I chose this mouth watering coffee and banana smoothie. Delicious breakfast on the go with that much desired pick me up! All you need is a banana, a cup of milk, 1/2 a cup of cold, black coffee, 2 teaspoons of sugar or sweetener and ice. Throw it into a blender until smooth, pour into your travel mug and you're good to go!

So, that concludes my first real 'lifestyle'-esque post, what did you think of the smoothies I chose? DON'T FORGET I'M HOLDING A MAC LIPSTICK GIVEAWAY ENDING ON AUGUST 11TH!
