The Easy Red Lip

If you're familiar in the slightest with me you'll already know I'm an absolute sucker for a red lip and have a very special relationship with my go to shade, MAC's Dangerous. However I'm starting to realise it isn't always acceptable to wear an in-your-face matte red. So began my hunt for the perfect, easy to wear, day to day red lip...

Not only is this combination perfect for those who, like me, are after something a little more subtle and less fancy, but it's also great for those of you who are branching out into the bright lip but are still a little scared to try something too out going.

Now, the combination in question... Natural Collection's Moisture Shine Lipstick in Crimson and Revlon's Lip Butter in Candy Apple. I like to apply the Natural Collection number first, which although claims to be "Moisture Shine" (if I have that right) it doesn't have very much of a sheen to it. On top of that goes Candy Apple, with much more sheen to it than the latter. The result is this, as poorly pictured above - a lovely, subtle, orange-red which is so easy to wear and isn't going to smudge all over the place or dry out your lips. It's safe to say I'm already on the hunt for similar duos. Any requests?

  1. I own both of these but have never tried them together but it looks lovely :)

  2. Ah this is a beautiful look! I love the idea of combining lipsticks x

  3. I love Candy Apple! I feel like it’s really universally flattering.

  4. Candy Apple is perhaps my favourite "slap on and go" red lip. However, my ultimate favourite red lip has to be MAC Russian Red. Mmmm it is to die for!!

If you are interested I am having a GIVEAWAY on my blog every day this week and one of the items is a MAC Lip Palette in 6 Editorial Reds which I can't help but think that you would love! Please drop by and enter :)

  5. The colour looks gorgeous & the pictures are fantastic!
