Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation | Review

Just recently Bourjois have been taking the drugstore foundation market by storm. With raves and reviews here, there and everywhere from both smaller bloggers like myself to beauty gurus like Anna from viviannadoesmakeup, I just had to see what the fuss was about. And I get it. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in Light Vanilla is the latest in my collection and I don't think I could love it more.

I've always been one for drugstore makeup, particularly foundations and spend years using Collection's Lasting Perfection Foundation and I honestly do mean years. After that I delved into the high end market and got my mitts on NARS Sheer Matte Foundation in Siberia. However, as I simply couldn't justify using a £30 foundation on a day to day basis (despite not having paid for it - thank you Ashlie) I was definitely in the market for a new foundation and thankfully this was around the time the Bourjois hype began.

I think Light Vanilla is infact the palest shade going but is honestly much lighter than the picture shows. If you're familiar with myself or even just my blog you're probably fully aware that my skin is a little on the Casper side but this is a beautiful match.

The coverage is fantastic being medium to high as a problem I had with my old Collection fave was that my skin was no longer the acne prone teenage mess it had once been so I needed something a bit lighter and less cakey. The Healthy Mix covers great first time but is easily buildable in problem areas and also has a corresponding concealer which may even be my next investment. It isn't too matte or too sheer and leaves a gorgeous natural finish on the skin which I've previously found really difficult to achieve, I now have the whole "look at me, I'm glowing on the inside" thing going on at last!

I honestly wouldn't pass up on any of the new Bourjois foundations, whichever is better suited for you. If you're after a little less coverage then it may be worth looking at the Happy Light Foundation or the Healthy Mix Serum, though I'm almost certain you didn't hear it here first...

Don't forget I now also have a Facebook page! Share the love and give it a like xo

  1. I use to use this foundation all the time before moving to America, Bourjois seem to have left the American market over the years. It's a shame because I really loved that foundation!
