Primers: The Round Up

After a spout of writers block I'm back and I'm planning ahead once again. Today I bring you my collection of primers - sorta sad how tiny it is but I'm building it up slowly and bringing in only the best. Please excuse the state of my bronzing primer. This is the first instalment of the low down on the primers I've been choosing and why.

Nivea Express Hydration Primer is by far the best for the money. Under a fiver (I actually got this from Wilkinsons on offer for £3), easy to get hold of, smells divine and works a treat. The only thing I will say is that, especially compared to my other primers, this is a little runny. However for the price, quality and incredibly sturdy packaging - an actual jar - the consistency of the product can be easily ignored.

Bourjois Bronzing Primer, a primer that I don't actually use as a primer. For those with a more glowy complexion or lovers of fake tan, popping this on underneath your normal foundation will give you a bronzed goddess glow like no other. However if you're more like me then this is honestly the perfect amount of bronze for your cheeks or as a contour, which is exactly what I use it for. Not too brown, not too orange, and not gold. It doesn't wash me out or look like I've smeared mud on my cheeks. A little goes a very long way and I've barely made a dint in my tub, certainly get your tenners worth out of this product.

Benefit The Porefessional. I only have the sample size of this and I'm not totally sure whether I want to repurchase. The texture is lovely, it smells great and it does do the job, however I do feel I have to use more of this product than I do anything else, so the £20+ price tag sort of puts me off the idea of buying the full sized version. I'd love to know your thoughts on this one!

Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch is the love of my life. I am so in love with this product and I'm not even sure why. It just feels luxurious and smooth and moisturising. This is something I'm probably going to have to start just using on special makeup days rather than for daily use as I'm close to hitting pan on this product and it is a little out of my price range. I do need to keep this one in my life though, there is no denying that.

  2. I'm glad to see I'm not the other one who has 'special make up days'! I've wanted to try that bronzing primer for ages, just wasn't sure if it was worth the price tag! x

    1. Hahaha thank God! Maybe we're both just a little odd. I'd say it's worth it, plus it smells beautiful. If you're pale like me it works really well on top of foundation as a contour, like now it's rare if I don't put it on and I never used to bother! It will also last forever, I've had mine for like a month and it's still pretty much full!
